This article analyzes information concerning the Samanid state presented in Ibn Kathir’s Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya. It examines accounts of the political history of the Samanid state, its rulers, system of governance, military and political relations, as well as events that took place in the regions of Transoxiana and Khorasan. The article also analyzes Ibn Kathir’s approach to presenting the history of the Samanids, the narratives and historical reports he used, and the historical significance of the information contained in his work.
