This article examines the issues of lexicographic description of the terminology of distance learning, which is being formed as a result of the rapid development of the modern education system. The semantic content of terms used in the field of distance education, their nominative features, the process of their assimilation, their place in the terminological system, and the problems of their representation in explanatory and terminological dictionaries are analyzed. The terms of distance education in English and Uzbek are analyzed comparatively and criteria important for their lexicographic interpretation are proposed.
