WORK ON WATER REFORMS IN UZBEKISTAN IN RECENT YEARS

Firdavs Ravshanqulov ,

Abstract

In recent years, water resource management and supply system reform in Uzbekistan has become one of the priorities of state policy. A number of large-scale projects are being implemented to eliminate the risks arising from water scarcity, infrastructure obsolescence, and climate change. With the participation of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and other international financial institutions, work is underway to modernize irrigation and drainage systems, expand drinking and wastewater networks, and introduce energy-efficient technologies. Within the framework of international cooperation, programs have been launched with South Korean and French companies to implement digital management systems, "smart" water meters, and telemetry devices, as well as to improve personnel qualifications.
