THE ROLE OF UNESCO IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL DIPLOMACY IN UZBEKISTAN
Samandar Sarayev ,Abstract
Cultural diplomacy, a key soft power instrument, utilizes cultural resources to promote mutual understanding between nations. This study examines UNESCO’s role in advancing Uzbekistan’s cultural diplomacy. Uzbekistan leverages its Silk Road heritage, including Samarkand and Bukhara, to enhance its global image through UNESCO’s World Heritage inscriptions and cultural initiatives like the Sharq Taronalari festival. Strengthened institutional coordination and community engagement can further bolster Uzbekistan’s cultural diplomacy.
