FORMS OF THE MANIFESTATION OF RELIGIOUS AND SECULAR TRENDS IN THE MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES

Dildora Dilshatovna Yusupova ,

Abstract

This article analyzes the complex relationship between religion and secularism in Middle Eastern countries and their influence on regional socio-political processes. The dynamics of religious and secular trends in the region are examined through the lens of globalization, extremism, the role of religious ideologies in the political arena, and the aftermath of the “Arab Spring”. Based on data from the “Arab Barometer”, a statistical analysis of changes in religiosity levels among youth and the general public is conducted. The article also highlights the negative consequences of existing forms of state structure in the Middle East: secular states, religious regimes, as well as entities such as the “Islamic State” proclaimed by radical groups.
