This article analyzes the formation, stages of development, and the role of international airports located in the historically and culturally rich regions of Uzbekistan — namely, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Urgench — within the global aviation system. The study examines the modernization of these airports, innovations introduced through foreign experience, their contribution to tourism infrastructure, and their position in regional competition. A comparative analysis with Kazakhstan’s Almaty Airport highlights both the advantages and shortcomings of Uzbekistan’s airports. The article scientifically substantiates the strategic significance of the transport and logistics system in the development of the tourism sector.
