DEVELOPMENT AND PROBLEMS OF THE GENERAL EDUCATION SYSTEM IN UZBEKISTAN IN THE 1950S–1960S (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE KASHKADARYA REGION)

The article analyzes the formation and development of the general education system in the Uzbek SSR during the 1950s–1960s. It examines the policy of compulsory education, the expansion of the school network, and existing problems in educational quality and material support. Using data from the Kashkadarya region, the study evaluates school numbers, student enrollment, and resource shortages. The findings demonstrate that the educational infrastructure established during this period became the foundation for further system improvement.
