HISTORY OF MUSEUMS DURING SOVIET RULE

The best building was allocated for the museum, and the former palaces began to function as museums. The state allocated subsidies, the staff for the museum grew, and funds were allocated from the state budjed for collecting collections and forming a fund. Museums enterd Soviet society as a novelty. They were opened not for specific individuals, as before, but for the population, the people.
