The article analyzes the role and significance of public oversight in the activities of civil society institutions. It highlights the importance of ensuring openness and transparency in public administration, strengthening citizens’ participation in social processes, and integrating public needs into state policy through mechanisms of public control. The practical effectiveness of public hearings, monitoring, and expertise, as well as existing challenges and ways to address them, are examined on the basis of legal sources and scientific research. The results of the study demonstrate that public oversight, as an independent actor of civil society institutions, serves as an important democratic tool in governing society.
