This article analyzes the foundational sources for the formation of knowledge and belief in Islamic creed (aqidah). According to the views of the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, it is explained that knowledge is acquired through three primary means: sound senses, reliable reports (transmission), and sound reason (intellect). The article elucidates the nature, limitations, and mutual compatibility of each of these means, based on foundational creedal works.
