The article examines the challenges associated with the development of fine-staple cotton cultivation in our country by analyzing the historical and economic necessity of its introduction. It explores the history and significance of cotton production and processing, as well as its impact on other sectors of the economy. Dedicated to the history of cotton farming in Uzbekistan, the article is based on archival documents from the National Archives of Uzbekistan, scientific research by foreign and local scholars, monographs, and brochures. The study provides comprehensive conclusions regarding the subject matter.
