THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JUDICIAL INDEPENDENCE AND THE RULE OF LAW

This article analyzes the relationship between judicial independence and the principle of the rule of law from both theoretical and practical perspectives. It substantiates that the independence of the judiciary, as one of the fundamental pillars of a rule-of-law state, must be guaranteed at the level of constitutional and international legal norms, as this condition is essential for the effective implementation of the rule of law in practice. The study examines relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, judicial and legal reforms, as well as international instruments such as the UN Basic Principles on the Independence of the Judiciary adopted by the United Nations and the Rule of Law Checklist developed by the Venice Commission.
