M. R. Topildiyeva ,

Abstract

This article analyzes the role and significance of the Turkestan Jadids in the development of science and scholarship. It highlights the activities carried out by representatives of the Jadid movement aimed at modernizing the education system, fostering scientific thinking, popularizing secular sciences, and transforming social consciousness. Viewing knowledge as the principal force for awakening the nation, the Jadids sought to reform traditional methods of instruction in schools and madrasas. The textbooks they authored, the new-method schools they established, and the scientific and educational works they published contributed significantly to the formation of modern knowledge in Turkestan. The article examines the Jadids’ theoretical views and practical activities in the fields of history, geography, natural sciences, linguistics, and pedagogy through a scholarly lens. This study is intended to provide an objective assessment of the Jadids’ contribution to the advancement of science and to reinterpret their intellectual legacy from a contemporary perspective.
