This article analyzes, based on historical sources, the formation of proletarian tourism in the USSR during the 1920s–1930s and its role in organizing tourism in Uzbekistan. It highlights the activities of the All-Union Proletarian Tourism and Excursions Society (BPTET), the inclusion of Central Asia among the main tourist routes, the establishment of the Uzbek PTET, and the processes of forming its structural organization. Additionally, the article examines, from a scholarly perspective, the construction of tourist bases in the republic, the expansion of the membership system, and the initial practical experiences aimed at developing mass tourism. It is also shown that the intensified totalitarian policies and ideological control in the USSR during the second half of the 1930s led to the dissolution of proletarian tourism organizations. Nevertheless, this short-term activity laid an important historical foundation for the development of tourism infrastructure and management experience in Uzbekistan.
