This article will scientifically analyze the historical roots of the art of puppet theater, the process of formation and stages of development in the territory of the country. The study highlights the elements of puppetry found in the samples of traditional ritual and folk art in the region, their artistic and spiritual functions and the role of this art in the structure of local cultural processes. Also analyzed are innovative directions observed in the activities of the regional Puppet Theater in the years of Independence - the renewal of stage technologies, the enrichment of dramaturgy and repertoire content, modern pedagogical approaches aimed at a young audience, creative research on improving performance skills. The results of the article will reveal the territorial features of the art of puppet theater, as well as show on a scientific basis its adaptation to the needs of the consumer at today's stage and increasing cultural and educational significance.
