THE ROLE OF DIPLOMACY IN THE PROCESS OF INTERNATIONAL NEGOTIATIONS

Abstract

This article analyzes the importance, functions and limitations of diplomacy in international negotiations from a theoretical and empirical perspective. Diplomacy is the main tool of political communication between states, and performs such roles as building trust, exchanging information, mediation and applying conciliatory strategies in the negotiation process. A literature review, full case analysis and a trial model approach were used as the research methodology. The article discusses strategies for increasing the effectiveness of diplomacy in negotiations and its limitations, and in the conclusions provides recommendations on the role of diplomacy.
