This article provides a scientific analysis of the current issues related to the preservation, development, and transmission of intangible cultural heritage to future generations in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Within the system of intangible cultural heritage, the study examines regional differences in rituals practiced among the population of the Fergana Region, depending on the geographical location of communities, the processes of their transformation, and the extent to which these customs and traditions have been preserved to date. Our field research has demonstrated that, in the context of globalization, urbanization, and the rapid development of digital technologies, addressing the challenges associated with preserving national traditions and customs is becoming increasingly important.

Interestingly, during interviews, one can observe that openness, friendliness, the ability to speak clearly and fluently based on one's knowledge and experience, to understand the feelings and thoughts of others, and to explain matters effectively are qualities characteristic of almost all of our elderly people. At the same time, appropriately directing the conversation through stimulating and well-targeted questions encourages people to openly express their thoughts and ideas that may otherwise remain unspoken, thereby enriching the dialogue and making the interview more meaningful [1, p. 5].

The article primarily employs a comparative analysis of observations obtained through field research, scholarly literature, international documents, and national regulatory and legal documents. It highlights modern mechanisms for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and preserving national customs and traditions. The findings demonstrate the necessity of strengthening cooperation among government institutions, research organizations, the education system, and local communities in preserving national values. Furthermore, the article provides practical recommendations for digitizing those areas of the Fergana Region where traditional rituals have been preserved without significant transformation, documenting and studying them from a scholarly perspective, and promoting national customs and traditions among young people as a means of preventing their gradual disappearance.
