DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING THROUGH INDEPENDENT LEARNING

This article focuses on the development of students’ critical thinking skills through independent learning. The paper presents the content, essence, and examples of independent learning assignments aimed at developing all components of critical thinking competence within the framework of the discipline “Creative Pedagogy” during extracurricular activities. Our research has shown that independent assignments provide opportunities to assess students’ personal qualities necessary for the development of critical thinking competencies, as well as to draw conclusions and make judgments. In addition, it is emphasized that the assignments offered to students should serve as effective methods, technologies, and project-based tools that contribute to the development of critical thinking. In our view, the proper organization of independent learning significantly enhances students’ critical thinking, reflective skills, and creativity.
