SEMANTIC ADAPTATION OF BORROWED TERMS
Shuhrat Mirziyatov ,Abstract
This article provides a scientific analysis of the process of semantic adaptation of borrowed terms in Arabic terminology. The study examines the phonetic, morphological, and semantic adaptation of terms that have entered the Arabic language from various foreign languages. Particular attention is paid to semantic transformation processes such as meaning extension, narrowing, and modification, which are illustrated through relevant examples.
The article also explores the main factors influencing the formation and development of Arabic terminology, including the interaction between the internal linguistic resources of the Arabic language and external language influences. Furthermore, it highlights the role of international and regional organizations in ensuring terminological standardization and consistency. The findings demonstrate the flexibility of the Arabic language in adapting to the terminological demands of modern science and technology, as well as the active integration of borrowed terms into the linguistic system. This confirms that Arabic terminology is a dynamic and continuously evolving system.
