THE MAIN VECTOR OF ANANDA COOMARASWAMY'S CULTURAL TRADITIONALISM

The article discusses Ananda Coomaraswamy's approach to cultural traditionalism and his views on tradition, art, and intercultural interaction. Unlike Rene Guenon, Coomaraswamy focuses on specific aspects of traditional art and symbolism, considering them within the context of cultural anthropology. He emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional art as a means of addressing the cultural crisis in Western society. Coomaraswamy also emphasizes the need for harmony with Eastern cultures and warns against the negative consequences of excessive cultural change resulting from interaction.
