This article analyzes four main stages in the history of the development of the Republic of Lebanon. The author studies the socio-political structure of the country consisting of different confessions, the influence of external forces and the impact of inter-confessional conflicts on the socio-economic situation. Lebanon's transition from war and conflict to peace and stability is covered step by step. The article describes the importance of achieving national peace and social cohesion, as well as the achievements of the country in strengthening its relations with the outside world. Nevertheless, the importance of adhering to the principles of religious tolerance and inter-ethnic harmony was emphasized.
