THE IMPORTANT ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SAMARKAND INSTITUTE OF ARCHAEOLOGY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF UZBEK ARCHAEOLOGY (1970-2025)

Abstract

This article analyzes the contribution of the Samarkand Institute of Archaeology to the development of ancient studies and archeology in Uzbekistan during the period 1970–2025. The founding, early archaeological researches, scientific achievements, international cooperation projects, activities in the preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage are fully covered. At the same time, information was also provided about the current state of the institute and its future priorities. The article pays special attention to the scientific research of historical objects and their provision of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan to the general public.
