THE INTERACTION OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND INSTITUTIONAL FACTORS ON MATERNAL AND CHILD MORTALITY RATES IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES

Bobur Azimovich Xonturayev ,

Abstract

This article presents an innovative study utilizing advanced econometric models to conduct an in-depth analysis of the complex cause-and-effect relationships between infant mortality, under-five mortality, and maternal mortality. Based on empirical data collected from 121 countries worldwide, the methodology of ordinary least squares (OLS) regression and structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to determine the complex interrelationships of determinants influencing mortality rates. The research results highlight the interconnection of socio-economic, demographic, and institutional factors in shaping indicators related to maternal and child health. Additionally, comprehensive approaches aimed at optimizing healthcare policy and reducing mortality rates have been developed, and the author has put forward a number of scientific and practical recommendations.
