Civil society institutions and state oversight are two main pillars of the oversight system in democratic governance. This article examines the necessity of integrating public (civil society) oversight with state control from theoretical and practical perspectives. The study reviews the legal foundations of public oversight in Uzbekistan, the significance of state-society cooperation, and international experience. The findings indicate that the harmonious collaboration of state oversight and public control over government activities is a crucial factor in ensuring transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in governance.
