Ismoiljon Khujakhonov ,Abstract
This article examines the specific features of shaping civic identity in the context of the “New Uzbekistan.” It compares ethnic and civic approaches to identity formation, highlighting the factors of interethnic harmony, cultural diversity, and legal culture in strengthening civic consciousness. Drawing on the theoretical perspectives of J. Habermas, B. Anderson, and E. Allworth, the paper explains the philosophical and social essence of civic identity. Using the Constitution of Uzbekistan, presidential decrees, and international experiences as examples, the concept of “Uzbekistani” identity is interpreted as a comprehensive and inclusive model of citizenship.
