EASTERN BAZAARS IN FOREIGN HISTORIOGRAPHY

The article examines the foreign historiography of Eastern bazaars as a complex socio-economic and cultural phenomenon. It analyzes major scholarly approaches to the bazaar as an institution of urban life that ensures economic, social, and cultural integration of society. Particular attention is paid to ethnographic and historical interpretations that reveal the role of the bazaar in traditional Eastern cities. The study identifies key directions in foreign research as well as specific interpretations of the bazaar as a space of intercultural interaction.
