THE METHODOLOGICAL ROLE AND FUNCTIONAL TASKS OF THE SUNNAH IN THE SYSTEM OF ISLAMIC SCIENCES
Ismoiljon Ibrohimov ,Abstract
This article provides a scientific and theoretical analysis of the methodological role and functional tasks of the Sunnah within the system of Islamic sciences. Based on various definitions of the Sunnah presented by muhaddith scholars, usul al-fiqh scholars, jurists, and theologians of aqidah, the study reveals its multilayered conceptual essence. The article also clarifies the methodological distinction between hadith and Sunnah, while scientifically demonstrating the integrative function of the Sunnah in the sciences of tafsir, fiqh, aqidah, and ethics (tasawwuf). The research findings confirm that the Sunnah is not merely a secondary source, but rather a methodological foundation and normative guide that unifies the entire system of Islamic sciences. The article contributes to the reinterpretation of the Sunnah through modern scholarly approaches and provides a deeper understanding of its place within Islamic epistemology.
