This article analyzes how the issue of the standardization of religious terminology in the Arabic language is reflected in the works of Ali ibn Muhammad al-Jurjani (1339–1413). The work Taʿrīfāt, created by al-Jurjani, is considered an important example of terminological lexicography and standardization in the Islamic scholarly tradition. The article discusses the methodological foundations of terminological standardization, the characteristics of al-Jurjani’s model, its relationship with preceding and subsequent traditions, as well as its influence on modern Arabic terminology. The research is based on classical and modern Arabic-language sources, as well as relevant scholarly works in Uzbek linguistics.
