THE COLLECTIVIZATION POLICY IN UZBEKISTAN AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
Ezoza Turaeva ,Abstract
This article scientifically analyzes the essence and content of the collectivization policy implemented in Uzbekistan during the Soviet period, its socio-economic and political foundations, and its impact on social life. The study employs the methods of historicism, systematic approach, comparative analysis, and source studies. It is substantiated that the collectivization policy carried out in Uzbekistan during the 1920s–1930s not only radically transformed the agricultural system, but also had a negative impact on national values, traditional property relations, and the lifestyle of peasants. In addition, the article examines the policy of dekulakization, the system of forced labor, the formation of cotton monoculture, and its long-term consequences. According to the results of the study, although the collectivization policy served short-term economic goals, its social and demographic consequences negatively affected the lives of the population for many years.
