DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN UZBEK FINE ARTS DURING THE 1950S–1960S: NATIONAL IDENTITY, REALISM, AND GENRE INNOVATION

This article analyzes the main development trends of fine arts in Uzbekistan during the 1950s–1960s. It examines stylistic transformations in portrait, landscape, genre painting, and book graphics, as well as the growing interest in national themes and the influence of socialist realism. The study also highlights the formation of professional art schools, pedagogical activities, the role of creative unions, and challenges such as the lack of local sculptural specialists and the slow development of monumental art.
