POLITICIZATION OF THE RELIGIOUS FACTOR AND MANIFESTATIONS OF XENOPHOBIA IN FRANCE

This article analyzes the politicization of the religious factor in the French Republic, the practical application of the principle of secularism (laïcité), and the manifestations of xenophobic attitudes associated with religious and cultural differences. The main objective of the study is to reveal the interaction between migration processes, postcolonial legacies, religious identity, and security discourse from the mid-twentieth century to the first quarter of the twenty-first century. The research employs historical-comparative, institutional-legal, systemic, and discourse analysis methods.
