HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL SECURITY INSTITUTIONS: FROM ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT

Abstract

The article examines in detail the origins and historical development of regional security institutions, from their origin in antiquity to the modern period. The main stages in the development of security institutions in various countries of the world, including Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Australia, are analyzed.

A brief overview of the main tasks that the regional security institutions set themselves at the present stage is given and the main functions that these institutions perform are outlined. The significant advantages that the regions receive from the fact that they have a strong and effective security institution are highlighted.

Particular attention is paid to the study of how regional security institutions in different parts of the world have adapted to changes in time and changing requirements set before them at various stages of their development. The author of the article also briefly processed a number of examples of how regional security institutions coped with various threat-related challenges that arose in the territories where they operate.

As a result of the article, it is concluded that regional security institutions are an integral part of the system for ensuring national and international security. They play the role of a starting point for creating a favorable environment around the world, preventing conflicts, preventing the widespread spread of terrorism, extremism and other forms of violence.
