The main stages in the development of security institutions in various countries of the world, including Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Australia, are analyzed.

A brief overview of the main tasks that the regional security institutions set themselves at the present stage is given and the main functions that these institutions perform are outlined. The significant advantages that the regions receive from the fact that they have a strong and effective security institution are highlighted.

In Japan, as in other countries, regional policy is complex in terms of goals and content, which is largely ensured by its coordination with other areas of state economy regulation. Also, this article highlights the modern strategy of Japan's regional policy, focusing on a number of factors.
