The article examines metaphorical transfers and symbolic meanings associated with the lexeme "love". The analysis is based on linguistic material, including literary texts, proverbs and phraseological units. Particular attention is paid to conceptual metaphors reflecting the perception of love in different cultures, as well as their semantic and cognitive features. Key images and symbols associated with love and their influence on the formation of worldview are identified.
