Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the asymmetry of form and content in the Arabic language, specifically the way it is expressed in a simple sentence. Special attention is given to the role of adverbs of manner. The analysis shows that that linguistic units can alter the semantic content of a sentence, creating semantic shifts between form and content. As a result of the study, the main mechanisms of such asymmetry have been identified, as well as their impact on the interpretation of statements in the Arabic language.

Keywords

Arabic language, asymmetry of form and content, simple sentence, participle, gerund, adverb of manner.
