The article provides a deep scientific analysis of the theoretical and practical significance of xenology in the process of teaching modern foreign languages. The content of the xenological approach, its linguistic, cultural and psychopedagogical aspects are considered, and its role in the formation of intercultural competence in foreign language lessons is highlighted. Based on practical examples and an analysis of scientific literature, it is shown that xenology is an important factor in increasing the effectiveness of foreign language teaching.
