COMMENTARIES ON AL-ZAMAKHSHARI’S “AL-MUFASSAL” IN ARABIC LINGUISTICS. THE INTERPRETATION OF ILMIDDIN AL-SAKHAWI AND ITS MANUSCRIPTS

The article examines al-Zamakhshari’s “al-Mufassal”, the commentaries written on it and, among them, Ilmiddin al-Sakhawi’s “al-Mufaddal fi sharh al-Mufassal”. Al-Sakhawi’s scholarly legacy, his method of commentary, the chapter on particles, the manuscripts in Cairo, Leiden and Rampur, and the editions are analysed from a source-studies standpoint.
