Language is one of the most important social phenomena of humanity and plays an invaluable role in the life of society. It is not only a means of communication, but also the main means of expressing national identity, transmitting culture and values from generation to generation. Through language, people communicate with each other, exchange ideas and knowledge, and preserve social experience as heritage. In this regard, language acts as a unifying and developing force of society. The article analyzes the social essence of language, its communicative, educational, and cultural functions. The direct role of language in the formation of social consciousness in the development of society is also highlighted.
