THE PHILOSOPHICAL VIEWS OF SA’DIDDIN HAMAVIY ON SUFISM

This article analyzes the spiritual heritage related to Sufism and the Sufi views of Sa'diddin Hamawi, one of the major theorists of medieval Sufi philosophy who made a worthy contribution to the development of the "Wahdat al-Wujud" doctrine. A key topic occupying an important place in his views - the nafs (self/ego) and the problem of its cultivation - is also examined.
