The article analyzes the history of the formation and development of exchange institutions in Uzbekistan, their role in the system of economic relations, and the coverage of these processes in historiography. Based on historical sources and scholarly literature, the study examines the emergence of exchange institutions, the development of market infrastructure, and the formation of the institutional foundations of exchange activities during the years of independence. In addition, the main research directions, approaches, and scholarly findings related to the subject are analyzed, and current issues in studying the history of exchange institutions in Uzbekistan are identified.
