This article examines the linguistic phenomena of phraseological polysemy and phraseological homonymy. It compares the degree of polysemy in words and idioms, demonstrating that although idioms generally have fewer meanings quantitatively, their semantic development parallels lexical polysemy qualitatively. The study analyzes idioms such as “baš kötür-”, “yüz ögür-”, and “köŋli bar”, illustrating how their meanings vary according to context. Phraseological homonymy is explained through cases where idioms share identical forms but differ in meaning and usage, with examples including “ilki yet-”, “azaqïnğa tüš-”, and “yüz evür-”.
