LINGUOCULTURAL ELEMENTS IN ENGLISH FOLKLORE CHILDREN'S SONGS

Zerkhan Janabergenova ,

Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of linguocultural units found in English and Karakalpak children's songs. Children's folklore is viewed as an important reflection of the interaction between language and culture, where symbols, images, metaphors, and elements of nature and wildlife convey the national cultural code. The research is grounded in the theoretical views of E. Taylor, P. Newmark, Sh. Safarov, and V.V. Vorobyev. The study highlights the meaning of linguocultural units, their cultural informational function, and visual, semantic, and contextual methods of interpretation. The comparative analysis reveals similarities and differences in the worldview, values, and folklore thinking of the two nations.
