CLASSIFICATION OF INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES IN SYNTAX AND THE POSITION OF FORMS EXPRESSING DOUBT AND HESITATION

The article examines the classification of interrogative sentences in linguistics, their various forms, and particularly the position of doubtful (hesitative) interrogative sentences among them. Interrogative sentences are divided into general, special, alternative, and confirmatory types, with a detailed analysis of the linguistic features and communicative functions of each. Special attention is given to doubtful interrogative sentences, highlighting their role in expressing semantic uncertainty, doubt, and probability. The morphological and syntactic structures of these sentences are described in detail, along with the distinctive characteristics that set them apart from other types of interrogatives. Using examples from various languages, the study explores the usage of doubtful interrogative sentences, thereby clarifying their significance in general linguistic theory.
