THE SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF GRAMMATICAL DEVICES EXPRESSING CAUSE-AND-EFFECT MEANING WITH NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES IN THE KOREAN LANGUAGE
Nigora Nosirova ,Abstract
One of the most important functions of language is to express human thought, including both emotional and logical ideas. Among such cognitive relations is the connection between cause and effect. The category of causality is one of the fundamental logical principles of human thinking and is expressed in all natural languages through specific grammatical and lexical means. The way in which cause-and-effect relations are expressed in each language is shaped by its semantic system, morphological structure, and syntactic organization. The Korean language is no exception in this regard. In Korean, causal meaning is mainly expressed through suffixes (어미), conjunctive endings (연결어미), and certain lexical units. In particular, forms such as –아서/어서, –기 때문에, –느라고not only express causal relationships with negative consequences but also demonstrate various semantic and pragmatic nuances. This scientific article analyzes the semantic and syntactic features of the grammatical devices expressing causal relationships with negative outcomes in the Korean language and provides a comparative study with equivalent means in the Uzbek language.
Keywords
