PRINCIPLES OF FREEDOM AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE PEDAGOGY OF L. N. TOLSTOY

Dilshod Khamraev ,

Abstract

This article analyzes the key principles of Lev Tolstoy's pedagogical philosophy and evaluates their relevance to modern education. Through Tolstoy's written work and the Yasnaya Polyana school's teaching methods the research demonstrates his focus on educational liberty and self-driven learning and the ethical basis of teacher-student connections. The research demonstrates that Tolstoy's opposition to forceful methods together with his promotion of student choice in learning methods predict modern democratic educational practices and humanistic teaching approaches. His complete educational perspective produces useful information which helps current educational changes to build self-reliant learning environments that support both moral education and complete student growth.
