INTERNATIONAL TERMS IN MODERN TOURISM TERMINOLOGY: THE CASE OF ARABIC, UZBEK AND TAJIK LANGUAGES
Shavkatjon R. Alamov ,Abstract
This article examines international terms related to tourism, migration, and service sectors in Arabic, Uzbek, and Tajik, focusing on the lexemes hotel, passport, visa, and taxi. The study aims to identify their etymological origins, semantic transformations, and phonological and grammatical adaptation mechanisms from a comparative-typological perspective. The analysis shows that in Arabic these terms undergo phonetic substitution and function within a diglossic environment, in Uzbek they become an active derivational base through agglutinative morphology, and in Tajik they integrate syntactically through analytic constructions, including ezafe patterns. The results are significant for the standardization of international terminology and for understanding the adaptation of international vocabulary in national languages.
