“CONSTRAINT IN ARABIC: ITS FUNCTION AND POSITION IN SYNTAX” (BASED ON ABDURAHMON JAMI’S "FAVAIDUZ-ZIYAIYYA")
Buzahro M. Begmatova , P. Mushtariy Vakkosova ,Abstract
This article provides a detailed analysis of the grammatical category of tamyiz (specification/limitation) using Abdurahman Jami’s work “Al-Fawāʾid al-Ziyāʾiyya” as a case study. The study examines the role of tamyiz in Arabic syntax, its morphological expression, its connection with sentence elements, and its semantic function. The article demonstrates how tamyiz appears in the mansub case, interacts with the subject and predicate, and clarifies quantities, weight, size, and other measurement units. This research provides a theoretical foundation for understanding the complex syntactic structures of Arabic, the mansub system, and tamyiz mechanisms, while highlighting the text’s importance for traditional methods of teaching Arabic in medieval madrasas.
