This article examines the communicative function of Arabic newspaper headlines as the primary and leading function. The nominative, informative, graphic, pragmatic, expressive, and intertextual functions are interpreted as manifestations of the communicative function. Based on materials from modern Arabic media, the linguistic and stylistic features of headlines are analyzed.
