Abstract

This article analyzes the lexical-semantic features of verbs expressing psychological states in the Arabic language. The study examines the role of state verbs in Arabic, their semantic groups, their classification into positive and negative attitudinal meanings, and their grammatical characteristics. Particular attention is given to the internal semantic structure of psychological state verbs, their synonymic and antonymic relations, their combinability with prepositions, and their functional-semantic potential in speech. The research is based on descriptive, semantic, and comparative methods. As a result, Arabic verbs denoting psychological states are classified into groups expressing positive and negative attitudes, while their place in the lexical system and their grammatical features are clarified. The findings of the study contribute to the theoretical description of state verbs in Arabic linguistics and are of practical significance for comparative lexicology, semasiology, and methods of teaching Arabic.
