The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan preserves about 2,500 rare manuscripts and lithographs. In recent years, a group of our scholars has prepared catalogs of manuscripts and lithographs kept in the museum’s collection for publication and presentation to the scholarly community in Uzbek, Russian, and English. The article examines the fact that the large-scale study and publication of manuscripts, which represent outstanding examples of book art, is one of the important tasks facing researchers, and that the publication of the results of scholarly research on the scientific description of Eastern manuscripts serves as clear evidence of the incomparable contribution of our great ancestors to the development of world science and culture.
